Visitation Parish has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since 2004 and participated in its first Abraham's House in 2009. The KC House of Abraham brings together faith communities from the three Abrahamic traditions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The communities work together to raise funds and volunteer time remodeling a home for a Kansas City family.
The KC House of Abraham accomplishes the following goals:
Promote interfaith fellowship and learn about each other's faith traditions
Increase awareness and support of Habitat Kansas City in a variety of faith communities
Promote partnerships between Habitat and participating congregations
Restore a home for a Kansas City family in need.
In the fall of 2016, Visitation will once again be part of an Abraham's House project with a projected groundbreaking in September.
