2025-2026 SCHOOL OF RELIGION MINISTRY
FOR PARISH CHILDREN & THEIR HOUSEHOLDS
SCHOOL OF RELIGION "Where households can become holy and whole together."
OUR VISION: SUPPORT THE DOMESTIC CHURCH | MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS | ENCOURAGE SERVANT LEADERSHIP | REINFORCE A CATHOLIC IDENTITY
- School of Religion is a subcommittee of the parish Faith Formation Ministry Team and offers religious and community opportunities for parish children and their whole household. Classes meet weekly on Monday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.
- Kindergarten & First Graders attend classes that introduce them to Jesus and the Church.
- Second graders attend classes that prepare them for two Sacraments - Confession & First Holy Communion. Children who do not attend a religious school are to complete one year of SOR before their First Communion year.
- 3rd - 5th graders who have already celebrated First Communion (our second Sacrament of Initiation) meet weekly to learn about being Catholic and how to participate more fully in the life of the Church through acts of service. These children will have monthly opportunities to be Kid Greeters, to write and read prayer petitions at Sunday Mass; and help serve at community meals. Regular attendance at Monday classes is required to participate in Sunday service opportunities with SOR.
- Junior High (6th - 8th grade) children attend classes that prepare them for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
2024-2025 School of Religion online registration is now open.
