May Day Recycle Day
MAY DAY SHAMROCK RECYCLE DAY
Save the environment. Help VISITATION School.
Donate your used cell phones, laptops, iPods, digital cameras and video cameras.

Dear Parents: Visitation School is sponsoring a recycling day on May 1st, 2009. There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used cellular phones, ink jet cartridges, laptops/notebooks, iPods, digital cameras and digital video cameras. Everything will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished and sold. 100% of the proceeds will help fund our school.

Please send in your donations with your student or drop off at school anytime between 8am – 5pm on MAY DAY and we will take care of the rest. They do not have to be in working order.

This is a terrific way to raise funds Visitation. It's easy, and all you have to do is use your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. We will receive up to 1% of the amount of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program. It's easy. Just visit target.com/tcoe, or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Visitation School. To date only 40 parishioners have signed up and our school has received nearly $7,000 from this program. So if you're going to Target anyway, please consider using your Target® Visa® or Target® Card. Big thanks to those who are already doing their part to make a great school even better. Grandparents, alumni, neighbors and friends can take part, too.

Box Tops for Education
Did you know that Visitation collects General Mills box tops to earn money for our school? Last year we raised $749 through BOX TOPS. We have raised $492 so far this school year - so lets get clipping those BOX TOPS! Auction - A Big Success!
The 2008 Visitation School Auction was a great success! The final numbers are still being tallied, but we anticipate that we exceeded our goal by 10% by raising $150,000! Thanks to everyone who served on an auction committee and for those students who also donated their time and talents to the auction preparation. Proceeds will be used towards technology for the classrooms.

Trash Bag Sale - A Big Success!
The annual trash bag sale fundraiser was an enormous sucess with nearly 10,000 rolls sold and nearly $35,000 in net proceeds to Visitation School. Dale and Heidi Youngs extend a huge thanks to all the volunteers, including the many students, who helped with distribution weekend; it couldn't have been done without all these wonderful and generous individuals. Also, a huge thank you to the families who picked up their orders - we're pleased to say that only 10 orders remained to be picked up at the conclusion of the sale! That's awesome and reduced the number of boxes that had to be hauled into the school for later pick-up. Finally, there are some extra rolls leftover from the sale so if you have customers who want a roll here and there throughout the year, you may coordinate that request with Bridget Winget.
